Instructions for use

Enter your family name in the box and click the Exact button. This compares the name against names taken from Scottish Parish records. If this does not give a result try the Wide button. This compares the name against the many thousands of recorded derivative of Scottish names.

When a clan connection has been established click on the View Clan Information button to view the Crest, Location, Clan Seat, History and Tartans. ClanFinder© currently has full information on the main 143 clans and partial information on the remaining 198 clans. Ongoing research will add more information as it becomes available.
